Follow the Rother River from Rye and the little harbour
Little village
Shingle beach white cliffs in the distance
And in late autumn the marsh full of colourful wild flowers
A few days here is the perfect place prepare before heading off on the big tour of Europe.
Tomorrow morning it’s the ferry to Cherbourg and a treck across the continent
Rye which is a seaside town on the East Sussex, Kent borderA town with a long history of pirates, fishing, trade, and defence of the realm
The towns has beautiful tudor building with the top of the hill dominate by the church and old castle
The view from the church tower over looks the old castle and the Rother River that leads down to Rye HarbourThe hinterland offers scenic riding
And winneries
Breweries
And traditional pubs and beer gardens
Making sure you dont get thirsty or hungry.
And of course the ultimate.
A Moto Guzzi in the shed
The spire of Canterbury Cathedral looms large over the city
The spiritual centre of the Anglican Church
A place of religious and secular learning
UNESCO world heritage listed.
Bustling with tourists
But by the river is the Greyfriars garden a place of beauty for peace and contemplation
It was a chance to give the mighty breva a shakedown ride
Find any little creaks or groans the need attention
Before this year’s UK and Europe tour.
It was a sunny day in London.
A run to Cambridge called.
Cambridge the University town.

And what I always like
Something a little quirky.
I first heard of Brick Lane a dozen years ago through a film
Brick Lane is a thoughtful story of Bangladeshi migrants who came to this area of London.
The movie also iintoduced me to the beautiful music of Natacha Atlas.
The area has changes over the years but there are remnants of it’s Bangladeshi migrants
In the food
The best vegetable samosa have taste.

Art even in the Street signs
And modern artistan
Spilling over from the close by Old Spitalfield Markets a real centre of Art and Design.
Once again probably not one of Londons big tourist attractions but worth exploring.
